Dr James Fyffe, a founding partner of Connectosteo, began osteopathic practice in 2002. He has gained broad clinical experience working in clinics in Melbourne, Brisbane, Mallorca Spain, The Channel Islands UK, and Yorkshire in the UK. James enjoys the diversity and challenge presented in general osteopathic practice. He also has a specialised interest in golf biomechanics, clinical pilates, functional movement science and the integration of osteopathy to help golfers of all levels to get the most out of their body and the most out of their golf game. James has completed the Gray Institute NG360 course and is TPI certified.

Dr Narelle Crabbe

The holistic osteopathic principles are what first drew Narelle into osteopathy as a profession. Narelle qualified as a registered osteopath in 2002. Narelle worked at various clinics in Melbourne and the UK before she and James opened their Flemington clinic in 2007. Narelle has particular clinical interest in pre and postnatal health management and paediatrics. Narelle has completed her Graduate Certificate in Neonatal and Infant Paediatric Manual Therapy. She loves treating and supporting women through their pregnancy, and treating babies and children. Narelle loves being a Flemington local, just a short walk to everywhere with James and their two young girls.

Liam Frost

Liam graduated from the University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Applied science (Human Movement and Health studies) and a Master of Physiotherapy. Liam has a particular interest in sporting injuries and rehabilitation, having completed additional education in this area including the APA sports Level 2 course. Liam has also provided physiotherapy for the state Under 18’s Rugby and Rugby 7’s national competitions.
Liam combines the use of hands on treatment, dry needling and exercise rehabilitation; including clinical pilates, to achieve your desired goals. He also has a keen interest in pain science and educating patients on this topic, which is supported by research as a highly effective treatment intervention.

 

Dr Sarah Taylor

Sarah has been a member of the team since 2009. Sarah’s interest is in the traditional osteopathic approach to treatment of the ‘whole patient’. Assisting women pre and post pregnancy, as well as the treatment of children are areas in which much of Sarah’s passions lie. Having two young children herself and remaining active in her personal life gives Sarah much inspiration both professionally and personally. She sees Osteopathy as an ideal therapy for helping infants to adults, assisting the body with its self-healing capabilities and helping her patients attain their best state of health through a wide range of techniques best suited for each patient and their presenting condition.

Dr Shane Bruce

Shane’s first exposure to osteopathy was as patient within our clinic at Connectosteo. This experience prompted Shane to begin his journey to becoming a qualified osteopath. Shane has completed 10 years of study, including a Diploma of Fitness and a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Science prior to completing his Masters in Osteopathy. He has also completed further training in dry needling and cupping. Shane believes the holistic approach of Osteopathy is the perfect way to help each patient and he uses this in conjunction with his experience in exercise and rehabilitation to help patients achieve their goals.

Dr Sam Bennett

Sam graduated from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Clinical Science and a Masters of Health Science (Osteopathy). Sam grew up in Mansfield in the Victorian high country. Here he was actively involved in local football, cricket and athletics. Experiencing his fair share of injuries, Sam became interested in manual health care from a young age and this path lead him to osteopathy.

Sam’s gentle treatment style mixed with his keen interest in exercise rehabilitation has seen him successfully treat neck and back problems, head aches, shoulder, knee and ankle injuries. He believes patient communication is key to successful treatment and strives to work with the patients to achieve their goals

Dr Sarah Arabi

Sarah graduated from RMIT in 2013.  She moved to Perth shortly after where she worked in a highly reputable clinic and gained broad clinical experience. She loves the challenge of getting to the root cause of peoples injuries and the satisfaction of helping people resolve their injury and improve their health.  Although she enjoys broad clinical challenges, she has particular interest in pre and post natal care and osteopathic paediatric care.

Dr Maria Farrugia

Maria enjoys treating a diverse range of patients; from elite athletes to pregnant women and the elderly. She has experience treating a variety of conditions; including headaches/migraines, neck and jaw pain, and back and hip pain. Maria has completed further training in dry needling, lower limb biomechanics, workstation ergonomic assessments, and clinical pilates. Maria encourages patients to take a proactive role in their rehabilitation. She recognises the importance of finding the cause of the injury to prevent its reoccurrence and also the benefits of preventing injury from occurring initially. When not working Maria enjoys reading, doing crossfit, and playing netball.

Dr Katrina Pears

Katrina trained as an Osteopath after developing an interest in finding solutions for her own sporting injuries. As a qualified personal trainer, Katrina is keen to teach patients correct exercise technique and application to enhance strength and postural awareness. She also has a special interest in work place ergonomics, pregnancy and headaches. Katrina treats her patients as individuals, using techniques that are appropriate for their specific injury and needs. She enjoys empowering patients to proactively manage their health so that they continue to benefit from the consultation long after the treatment is over. When Katrina isn’t in the clinic, you can probably find her at an indoor climbing gym and planning her next outdoor adventure with her husband.

Dr Rachel Natoli

Rachel is a firm advocate for holistic health care and believes in the application of the essential principles of Osteopathy for the treatment and management of her patients. She is dedicated to assisting her patients throughout the different stages of their health journey and works together with them to achieve their health and wellbeing goals. Rachel has a keen interest in clinical pilates, and combining this with osteopathic treatment for sustained and motivated healthy living. Outside of osteopathy, Rachel enjoys cooking, spending time with her family and friends and volunteering with Camp Quality.

Dr Danni Cullen

Danielle was drawn to Osteopathy at a young age after covering many miles in country Victoria looking for relief from sports related aches and pains. Throughout her studies Danielle gained hands on experience working as a Sports Trainer in the EDFL, as well as treating in a Sports Hospital in Mumbai, India.

Danielle uses a variety of Osteopathic treatment techniques including Dry Needling and Exercise Prescription to tailor a treatment program specific for the individual.

In her spare time Danielle enjoys checking out Melbourne’s fantastic cafe scene, or taking in one of the many sporting events on offer in Melbourne.

Tess was drawn to osteopathy for its ‘whole body’ approach. She believes health is achieved when all the systems in our body are functioning optimally, and recognises that the mind-body connection plays a big role in this process. As an osteopath she enjoys working with a wide range of patients, from those suffering sports related injuries, to those with headaches caused by stress. Tess is originally from New Zealand and crossed the ditch six years ago. Away from work she enjoys painting, playing music, photography, and exploring Australia’s outdoors (…which apparently are nearly as beautiful as New Zealand’s).

Kate Hedge

Kate graduated from the Southern School of Natural Therapies in 2005 with a degree in Clinical Myotherapy. With a passion for sport she has worked within various sporting clubs and treated many elite athletes from a wide variety of sports such as football, basketball, triathlons, marathons and horse racing. Along with Kate’s keen interest in treating neck and shoulder conditions, she also has a passion for treating all aspects of pre and post natal pain.

Kate’s friendly and approachable nature and ability to empathise with her patients make her popular with patients of all ages. Her broad experience assists her to assess, diagnose and create a tailored and effective treatment plan for each patient based on their individual needs. Kate specialises in trigger-point therapy, deep-tissue massage, dry needling, cupping, passive & active muscle stretching and myofascial release. She is passionate about achieving the best results for her patients so they can return back to work, sport & everyday life.

Nicole Tatam

Nicole has worked in a variety of settings including sports clubs such as the Melbourne Rebels Rugby Club and has worked as a sports trainer doing massage, taping and first aid for a number of local football teams. Nicole has experience in providing highly skilled hands on techniques to effectively treat injuries, aches and pains. She also practices dry needling, cupping and a variety of stretching techniques to enhance the benefits of treatment. Nicole became interested in Massage and Myotherapy after experiencing first hand just how much help they can be!

Darcy Waugh

After six years of working as a myotherapist and in various health advisory roles, Darcy has developed a sound knowledge of injury treatment, management and rehabilitation. He has a particular interest in sports performance science and medicine, and how it applies to sporting success and health in general. Darcy finds himself always eager to learn, with a goal to continue to gain experience and knowledge in order to provide the highest level of care to both patients and athletes alike. He is currently undertaking his masters in exercise physiology at Deakin University and is set to finish in May 2017.

Sally Backman

Sally is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, who has had experience working with a range of conditions including; musculoskeletal injuries, metabolic conditions, cardiovascular disease, and mental health. Sally has a strong interest in musculoskeletal health and is passionate about clinical Pilates, and applying it as a form of exercise to achieve long-term optimal health. Outside of work, Sally enjoys keeping fit, watching the AFL (in particular the Western Bulldogs), and traveling when she gets the chance.

River Hoogenboom

Remedial Massage Therapist

River has a longstanding passion for yoga and pilates which sparked and fostered her in interest in movement health and the mind body connection.  A natural progression of her interest led her to becoming a remedial massage therapist.

She believes in providing long-term, sustainable treatment outcomes for her clients, helping them to live an active, healthy and pain free lifestyle. River is eager to continue to build on her knowledge and experience in pregnancy massage and chronic pain in 2018.

Adriana Tselepis

Adriana’s upbringing in gymnastics sparked her interest in the human body, it’s movement and rehabilitation. Furthering her passion, she’s attained her qualification in Gymnastics Coaching, Fitness, Remedial Massage and currently Myotherapy at RMIT.  In 2017 Adriana was fortunate to travel to India with her university, where she provided treatment at free health clinics, an eye opening and invaluable learning experience

Adriana enjoys the variety and challenges that come with Remedial massage.  She is an advocate for educating her patients, encouraging lifelong habits in the goal of improving their quality of life.
